The Nigerian government had a tough time accepting the report of the world bank which claims that Nigeria was close to overtaking Idia as the poverty capital of the world.
They described the Nigerian economy as weak, calling on the Nigerian government to strengthen the economy to forestall further economic woes.
In 2019, they have released another report which shows that in the next few years, the number of Nigerians living in extreme poverty will increase by 30%.
While the Nigerian government is still trying to revive the ailing economy, the world bank report shows that not much progress has been made.
The release of the report has generated reactions from different people and groups who have respectively called on the government to take drastic action on the issue
